I made these Valentine Hearts about a month before Valentine's Day and finally got around to finishing them up and packaging them. There are six hearts in one zip file.

The Jill Frame

A while back, Jill and I were chatting on Hello, and she wanted a frame like the one around the search bar on the Yahoo kids site. So I made her one. I emailed the copyright folks at Yahoo to ask if I could use my frame since it was inspired by theirs, but I haven't heard anything back. So, I'm giving it here as a scrapbooking freebie. So here, I give you "The Jill Frame"; Shown here as a plain PNG and also with Cooper's cute little face on it! Just click either image to start the download in both PNG and PSD formats. Oh...and click HERE to enlarge

Well, I completely fell off my photo a day wagon this past week. I've been feeling so down and tired. But really, the service for Kendra was so uplifting, along with wonderful news from Angie the other day; I now feel a slight sense of renewal. I do hope to continue with the photo project. And I have a TON of scrapping to do; I kept the memory boards with all the pictures of Kendra on them. I'm going to scan all the pictures, put them on CD for Kendra's family and make some scrapbook pages for them. It's a project I really look forward to.

Now I'm just sitting here watching the Grammys and awaiting the nominations for Michael Bublé and chatting with Jill and Kelly. I'm hoping to be able to stay awake for the last twenty minutes of it. There are three sleeping boys strewn across the couches and they're making me sleepy too!

It's Just Around the Corner...

Amid the madness of the household (I'm still off and home with the boys)...I made these 2008 calendar grids. They might just come in handy for your desktop calendars or maybe in a layout.

Each file is transparent and in .png format (without the white backing), with and without the months on them (in case you want to use a different font).

Click the image and they're all yours!

Christmas came and went. Santa came and deposited a big pile of presents in the living room. Chris's brother Jason and their Dad came over at eight on Christmas morning to open presents with us. I took this stop-motion video of the gift opening. Pretty chaotic! After breakfast, I made a big breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. The boys were pretty thrilled with all their loot. Cooper first opened a little tiny toy truck from Uncle Jason and was perfectly happy with playing with it. I had to talk him into opening more presents. I've made a mental note to ask Santa not to bring so much stuff next year!

The kids played with their new toys and everyone napped. We got up and ready to go to my Mom and Dad's house for supper. Mom had her usual massive table that seated the whole fam-damily. We're talking about thirty people sitting at the table. The feast was impressive as per usual, and everyone had to sit back and bloat for awhile before dessert.

A bunch of us (My Mom, Aunts Josie and Lurdes, cousin Kelly and her Aunt Pat) played Taboo and that was hilarious. One of Cindy's girls wasn't feeling well; their family seems to be passing around a 24-hour gastrointestinal bug. I'm just praying it doesn't get us too. Which still causes me to wonder what made Carter throw up today. It was a fairly early evening and we came home. The kids seem to be going to bed later and later these days but it's a bit of a bonus to sleep in a little since I don't have to get up and go anywhere.

Yesterday I did some Boxing Day shopping at Wal-Mart. I looked at all the special deals they had going on and was very tempted to load up on stuff when I realized it was all stuff we don't really need. So it ended up being a grocery run, much of it was half-price. Mom invited us to come over for leftovers so after the boys' naps we headed over (across the lake again - what a great shortcut!) Auntie Lurdes and Uncle Cliff were there too and we stuffed ourselves and visited for awhile. The boys cavorted for a long time after we got home.

This morning I woke up feeling like crrrrrrrrrapppppp. My head was so congested I had a terrible sinus headache. My nose was a disgusting encrusted mess. Just when I think this cold is easing up, it's like I wake up with a brand new one. I'm really sick of being sick. Five weeks is way too long. I've never had a cold like this before. Today was the kind of day I get tempted to go to the doctor. Even if they're just going to tell me I have a cold and to go drink plenty of fluids blah blah blah. I just want it to go away!

I tried to do a little tidying today but with two crazy boys running around (and peeing on the couch and puking on my duvet and colouring pretty much everything with markers except for the paper I gave them) it wasn't easy. I took some Tylenol Sinus which started to help after about an hour. I was forced to do laundry due to Carter's spontaneous barfing episode...I had taken the two duvets off my bed and put them aside in the boys' room so I could tidy up my room. And that's where Carter decided to spew forth his cinnamon toast. Ugh. I sure hope I found all of it. It prompted me to do a couple loads of laundry, which I guess turned out to be a good thing.

Chris isn't home from work yet; he stayed to install the stereo that Santa gave him for his truck. The boys ate a few spoonfuls of soup that Mom made. I made a meal of it and enjoyed it again. Since the boys didn't nap this afternoon, they got a little sleepy at supper time. I bribed with candy to keep them awake. So I'm pretty sure bedtime won't be too long now. Or so I hope.

Get Busy Blogging or Get Busy Sleeping

Dangit I'm slacking off in the blogging department again. I've thought about blogging all week but the call of my pillow is louder than the call of the blog. I've gone to bed early most of the week. I've worked on a couple cool projects: Wedding invitations, reply cards and envelopes, posters for curling bonspiels and some thank you cards. Which means I haven't done any scrapbooking.

Monday night Mom and Kelly and I went to Bingo. No winnings. Ugh. Tuesday Kelly brought to my desk this EXQUISITE cheesecake pie:

It wasn't even a drive-by; she walked it over. I put a HUGE post-it note on it stating that it was MY cheesecake and DON'T TOUCH. Thankfully everyone heeded my warning and it was completely intact when I brought it home. We had a couple office birthdays this week, so there was no shortage of cake for everyone.

Chris worked on his truck most evenings this week. Since the time change last weekend Carter had a couple REALLY early bedtimes. Early as in six-thirty! I tried so hard to wake him but he was very unconscious. He woke briefly around nine-thirty but went right back to sleep for the night. The only problem with the earlier bedtimes (I got him to stay up 'til at least 8 the rest of the week) is the early rising in the morning. So early that Chris has had to deal with them a bit in the morning. Tee hee. I can hear what's going on but I try to get a little more sleep. Then when Chris leaves I pretty much have to get out of bed because the little turkeys work together to get into stuff.

One morning Carter had moved his recliner over to the entertainment unit and grabbed the candy bowl leftover from Halloween. There were a few wrappers strewn about and they both had a sucker in each hand. Yikes. So I've had some early mornings this week. One day I actually walked the boys to the sitter's house in the stroller. It's not easy pushing seventy pounds' worth of children in that thing anymore. The tires could use some air too. I ended up walking home to pick up the Jeep and driving to Tim Horton's before going to work.

Thursday evening Chris actually spent most of in the house. I made a nice supper of stuffed pork tenderloin, corn and long grain and wild rice. For dessert we finished off the cheesecake pie; I had been hoarding it but we finished it.

Last night Kelly had a Bingo date with a bunch of girls and I ended up joining them. We were having a great time as usual, though apparently our laughter was annoying some of the other Bingo players, who were rudely shushing us and muttering phrases like shut up. If they had nicely asked us to keep it down I totally would have respected that and kept it to a dull roar but since they were rude I was just miffed. It was like we were being admonished for having fun. Hmph. Despite all the fun we didn't win anything, but it was close so many times.

Today was a fun quiet day with the boys. I bought the movie Ratatouille the other night and we watched it a couple times. Cute movie. Chris worked until noon then came home and I took off downtown. I picked up some cardstock to finish off the wedding project for Kelly's niece I was working on. It's all done, and very pretty. I did a run for a FVC on the way home, which took longer to wait in the drive-thru than it did to go to the stationery store.

I came home and Chris went outside to the garage to work on the truck again. He came in by supper time and was totally filthy and he needed to go back out to finish up but he really needed to go to the bathroom. Since he was so dirty he didn't want to 'handle' himself, so he asked for my help. Obviously I don't own a penis, which made the situation hilarious, but I managed to help without making a mess. I know...TOO MUCH INFORMATION...but it was so very funny.

After Chris finished working on the truck and got himself all cleaned up, we had pizza for supper...a Chicken Italiano pizza from Pizza Hut. It was awesome, aside from the green peppers I picked off. We had Caesar salad too. Good stuff.

We had a fun evening; Chris and the boys wrestled and we all watched Ratatouille AGAIN. I was going to give it to Carter for Christmas but I don't think I'll be able to hide it now since it's become so popular around here.

Everyone fell asleep awhile ago, and I was playing around in Photoshop and I made these glass gems. It's been a forever since I made a new freebie, so here we go! There are nine gems, each in a separate PNG file.

Holy Crap!

Cooper pooped on the potty today! Just seventeen months old and he did it! He started making the "I gotta poop" face so I acted quickly and undiapered him and put him on the potty. It took awhile but he eventually had a ginormous poop! Sorry for all the gruesome details but emptying a potty is way more pleasant than using 28375682345 wipes and wrapping up a poopy diaper!

Today I have had a headache all day. My sinuses have been all wonky but I don't feel like I have a cold. Please don't let it be allergies...I've almost never been allergic to anything; I only broke into hives once after playing with those yellow and black fuzzy caterpillars when I was really little. I just took some Tylenol a few minutes ago so hopefully it will work it's magic quickly.

After my Grandma passed away last year, when Cooper was just two months old, I went to her house with my Dad. Most of her things had been sorted and much of the family had chosen some keepsakes. I hadn't, since over the years Grandma gave me some things that I treasure even more since they were gifts from her. But as I looked in her sewing box, I found this beautiful bracelet:

Grandpa used to have a rock tumbler so I'm betting that he and Grandma made this bracelet. I wear it from time to time but I'm so careful not to let my boys near it and I fear losing it. Soooooooo I scanned it ages ago and was going to try to base a kit around it but instead I recoloured it a few times for variety and thought I'd offer it up as a freebie. You can click on the package below to start the download.

Here's the bonus...I will enter the blog comments (here) or forum comments (from my post where you received the link to come here) between now and Monday night in a draw for a five dollar gift certificate at Butternug Squash Designs. Please be sure to leave a link back to your blog or your email address so I can contact you to send you the gift certificate!

I finally dyed my hair this evening so tomorrow I'll just have to iron it. Cooper went to sleep just a few minutes ago but Carter is still going strong playing games on the other computer. Chris is nearly snoring on the other couch. My headache seems to be lifting. I might even be able to stay up late enough to watch Mad TV and/or Saturday Night Live tonight!

My First Kit - Yours FREE!

It's been fairly quiet around here since Christmas. I didn't venture out shopping anywhere on Boxing Day. Except for a couple groceries I needed late in the day.

Yesterday we had Chris's Brother, Dad, Grandpa, and cousin Janet here for supper. I made shake'n'bake chicken legs, twice-baked potatoes, french-style green beans and stuffing. Once everyone's supper settled in, I made some cyuuuuute ice cream sundaes for dessert. I used those waffle bowls, a big dollop of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, real whipping cream and milk chocolate chips. Mmmmmmmmm. They were real purty! We had a great visit with everyone and there was some more gift exchanging. Spoiled rotten again!

Today Kelly and I took the boys shopping. I had gift cards to spend and Chris gave me a list for the Canadian Tire one. I picked up a new wireless doorbell. Yes! We have a doorbell again! Yay! I also picked up an outdoor thermometer and a nice ice-fishing rod for Chris. Next stop was Wal-Mart. We were in there for a looong time and the boys were so awesome. I picked up a two-piece snowsuit for Cooper, pants for Carter, a bunch of baby food, soap and stuff and a truck for Carter. There was more, but my tired brain can't remember. We dropped off Kelly and did a run thru the drive-thru car wash. The Jeep was filthy. It's still kind of filmy 'cause the car wash is a touchless one, but it got off most of the salt and grime. We came home and Carter was sleeping. Cooper and I played until Daddy came home.

Chris showered and I made spaghetti for supper with ground moose meat and I toasted some garlic breadsticks. I've spent the evening working on the final touches of my first whole digital scrapbooking kit. Here it is, and you can click on the image to download it.

The link has MOVED! Christy has moved the download to the FREEBIE section her store at Butternug Squash Designs so the download link won't expire! Thanks, Christy!
